Set amongst stunning scenery, Tintagel Castle is steeped in history and myths inextricably linked with the legend of King Arthur. As part of a recent visitor centre refurbishment, English Heritage commissioned Squint/Opera and myself as Creative Director, to create a new installation to re-tell the centuries-old stories of this unique setting in a 21st century context.
We created an animation which was projection mapped on to a 3D printed topographical model of the Tintagel headland. Showing how the land use and castle evolved through history from the dark ages to present day, the animation is accompanied by illustrative images, text and an immersive soundscape.
